The 6tth Annual Meeting Of The Members Of Niobrara Valley E.M.C.
Held March 4, 2013
The Sixty-Fifth Annual Meeting of the Niobrara Valley Electric Membership Corporation was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in O'Neill, Nebraska on March 4, 2013. Present at the meeting were 125 members, 21 members represented by proxy and 32 guests.
Directors, retired directors and employees, and special guests were introduced. The board officers gave their reports.
President DeKay then presented a plaque to three directors whose terms are expiring and one director who is not seaking another term. Mr. Gene Chohon for 12 years of service, Mr. Mark Heiser for 12 years of service with 10 of those years as Secretary, Mr. Alan Estes for 12 years of service with 2 of those years as Treasurer and Mr. Carl Ruda for 6 years of service to the board of directors with 6 years as the Goodwill Fund Director. President DeKay thanked Mr. Chohon, Mr. Heiser, Mr. Estes and Mr. Ruda for their dedicated service to the cooperative.
General Manager, John Hoke gave the yearly report on the Cooperative.
There was no old business brought before the meeting.

15 Door Prize were awarded to the following members present at the meeting.
Mary Jo Closson, Arlin Hendricks, Bernard Grimes, Dave Nichols, Cornelius Murphy, Bette Bates, Phillip Fritz, Bob Miksch, Gordon Dvorak, Marvin Doolittle, Grace Bendig, Dorothy Thomson, Vicky Krieger, Gene Goldfuss, and Arnold Buller
The winner of the $200 Free Electricity Grand Prize: Leslie Purviance
The member drawn for the Attendance Prize of $400 Free Electricity: Gary Wettlaufer
Mr. Wettlaufer was not present at the meeting, so next year's Attendance Prize will be worth $500.
Four director terms were up for election. The results of the director election were reported to the meeting as follows:

District #4 - Bristow Area Luke Mahlendorf - 51 Roger Ruda - 63
District #7 - O'Neill Area Mike Givens - 105 David Hickey - 25
District #10 - Stuart Area Daniel Kohle - 62 Rolland Wallinger - 57
At the conclusion of the report of the director election, the meeting was adjourned at 2:32 P.M.
